The Bitterroot Valley is known as the Banana Belt of the west. It is typically warmer and less windy here that any place else in Montana!

The Park contains more than 2.2 million acres of steaming geysers, thundering waterfalls, crystalline lakes, and panoramic vistas. Yellowstone is the greatest wildlife sanctuary in the United States, encompassing 3,472 square miles of wondrous beauty.

Hiking & Backpacking in The Bitterroots The 1.6 million acre Bitterroot National Forest is part of the Northern Rocky Mountains. National Forest land begins above the foothills of the Bitterroot River Valley in two mountain ranges--the Bitterroot Mountains on the west and the Sapphire Mountains on the east side of the valley. From Art Shows to Hot Springs, the Bitterroot Valley has it all!
25th Annual Renaissance Arts & Craft Fair This juried arts and crafts show features some of the Northwest's best artists and craftspeople. Peruse displays of jewelry, photography, sculpture, weaving, wooden toys, handmade furniture, stained glass, glass beads, and pottery. International Wildlife Film Festival The wildest film stars in the world are in Missoula at the 29th annual International Wildlife Film Festival (IWFF). The theme this year is ‘People & Nature: Living in Harmony'. Top winners of the film competition are showcased at public screenings all week, including matinees at the historic Wilma Theatre. Additional events include seminars and panel discussions, workshops, Children's Day, Wild Walk Parade and kids wildlife art displays. Woolly, wild and wiggly is the theme of the Wild Walk Parade.
Hamilton Wine Tasting Festival The Hamilton Wine Tasting Festival is a semi-formal event where participants taste a vast variety of wines and sample hors d'oeuvres. Hamilton is a short drive from our Log home. An elegant and fun evening. Everyone has a great time tasting, sampling and visiting with new-found friends. There is also a silent auction held at the event!

Go Snowmobiling! In winter, it is the kind of trail that snowmobilers dream about. Closed to automobile traffic, it allows privileged views of frozen Skalkaho Falls, tall peaks and deep canyons. Near Hamilton, in the Bitterroot Valley, this is a snowmobilers paridise!
Lolo Hot Springs Resort Lolo Hot Springs Resort is on 125 acres of private property in the middle of the Lolo National Forest, just a 40 minute drive from the Montana Eagles Nest.  At Lolo Hot Springs, visitors today can enjoy the same soothing waters that bathed the weary members of that famed expedition 186 years ago. Known to the Indians long before the arrival of Lewis and Clark, the hot spring was a mineral lick for wild game, and an ancient meeting place and bathing spot for the Indians. 
Lost Trail Powder Ski Area When you visit Lost Trail Powder Mountain - located 50 minutes south of The Montana Eagles Nest -  you will enjoy the beauty and uncrowded slopes of the Rocky Mountain's hidden jewel. Experience affordable family skiing from the top of the Continental Divide. They have very possibly the nation's powder at unbelievably low prices.
Bitterroot Bluegrass Festival A pickers festival! The Northern Rocky Mountain region will bring various professional groups and from the Bitterroot Valley, we are proud to present several local groups. The Festival will present the very popular ‘Instrument Workshops’ for banjos, guitars, fiddles, mandolins and upright bass on Saturday morning starting at 10:00am. Gospel bluegrass and a variety of arts and crafts vendors as well as a great selection of various food vendors.
Big Sky Water Park Big Sky Waterpark is the perfect "day trip" from the Montana Eagles nest in the summertime. This world-class water park offers enjoyment for the entire family. There is even a hot tub for the grown ups! Out of the water amenities include an 18 hole mini-golf course, gas operated bumper cars, catapulting water balloon game, beach volleyball and a kid’s arcade.
